Ceilings, why don’t we do more to them?

Ceilings, why don’t we do more to them?

Feature #24, March 18, 2010

With all the talk of wall treatments, paint, wallpaper, how about the ceiling?  Do we forget about it because there isn’t many choices? Maybe we forget about it because we don’t hang pictures, or decorate it in any unique ways.

Marie Burgos Design has come up with some wonderful ceiling solutions, to avoid the same ‘ol blah ceiling.

Tin ceilings are reflective and look great against coffered ceilings

I like wood ceilings, because they add warmth and natural hues.  Wood is unique in every application and can’t be replicated exactly the same.

Warmth is an inherent property of wood, wouldn't you love to look up at this while resting on the couch?

How about fabric? I’ve always heard of it, but look at how dreamy it is for this nursery!

This fabric ceiling is beautiful! I have seen this technique before but would like more information on how this is done. If you can make some suggestions, I would appreciate it. This would be appropriate for even more in an adult room to add texture while setting a romantic mood. Great!

Thanks for the comments Melonie! I know, isn’t it gorgeous? I will see if I can do some further research on fabric ceilings, and if there are any DIY ways to do it! Thanks for the homework! :o )
