4th of July Favorite: Summer Patriotic Pretzel Treats Recipe

Entry #2556, June 23, 2013

The 4th of July is right around the corner! It’s time to celebrate and honor the people who offered their lives for freedom. The 4th of July celebration in the United States of America is the time of the year when people gather as one free nation and celebrate with summer food recipes, barbecues, fireworks and more! This day is typically a fun day associated with parades, fireworks, family gatherings and among other celebrations.

Planning to host a family gathering this 4th of July is definitely a great idea. This reunion provides bonding with the whole family especially if it’s been a while since you meet each other. It’s also perfect to showcase your culinary skills, if there’s any. But don’t worry; you don’t need to be an expert to impress your guests of what you are serving. Try this summer patriotic pretzel treats for your finger food menu. It’s so easy to prepare – effortless. And more importantly, quick to make! Thanks Martha Stewart for this summer treat.

Procedure

Like most sparklers, these are extinguished after a short while — with several large bites. To make two dozen, place 4 ounces chopped semisweet chocolate in a heatproof bowl set over a pan of simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted; remove from heat. Using a pastry brush, coat the upper third of each pretzel rod in chocolate. Cover with sprinkles; stand pretzels upright in a glass. Place in the refrigerator until firm, about 5 minutes.

Isn’t that simple? For better and more patriotic results, choose colors red, blue and white for your sprinkles. Make sure you will make more than enough. It’s one of those finger foods that can be easily be emptied. You may also use white chocolate as an alternative. The summer patriotic pretzel treats can certainly complement the theme of your celebration while filling your sweet cravings.
