How to Bring Fresh Summer Color into Your Bedroom

 Entry #2529, June 16, 2013

Summer season is fun and a perfect time to lighten up your home interiors. You can do that simply by giving your bedroom a switch around with its interiors. From color shades to simple accessories, there are numerous ways to get creative and welcome the warm weather theme. Bring in the flavor of summer season into your bedroom with these quick and easy bedroom décor tips.

Switch to a summer color palette

Give cool and light colors to your bedroom. Shades of whites, blues, and yellows are generally the top picks for summer season. Don’t be afraid to mix and match bold prints when choosing fabrics for bedding, seat covers, curtains, and throw pillows. Look for cheerful stripes, bold floral prints, or large-scale geometric pattern.  You can also consider a nautical theme for summertime as its fun and refreshing- think sailboats, seashells, and fish. Right colors and patterns can instantly add ambiance and atmosphere to your bedroom without costing a fortune.

Fresh flowers

Don’t limit the fresh cut flowers and plants to other parts of the house. Bring them in the bedroom to add a romantic touch and tap some fresh air into your sanctuary. Create several small flower bouquets for a big impact or consider a single large flower arrangement with twigs by the bedside. If you are using a floral print bed sheet, vase of flowers in complimentary colors will look perfect.

Enhance your senses

Summer season is the best time to rejuvenate your senses and aromatherapy is the way to go. Opt-in for some scented candles or aroma diffusers in soft floral fragrances. Some top picks includes soothing lavender, zesty peach, or energizing orange. Put them in summer themed candle holders for that extra warm weather touch.

You can change the complete look of your bedroom just by doing up the window treatments.  If your bedroom is still displaying those heavy wintry curtains, switch them to a lightweight cotton or netted design. Consider adding ring clips to all your drapes, so that you can make a switch with the season.

While there are many ways to add that summer flavor to your bedroom, the most important of all is to keep your bedroom de-cluttered and airy. Free your room of any unwanted elements and enjoy sweet summer dreams.
