Two Carry-Along Desserts

The Fourth of July is a summer event. So, cold desserts that can be carried along will be a hit item among picnic and party-goers. You can opt for either dirt or margarita pie. Dirt is made of pudding, chocolate cookies, cream cheese, whipped cream, milk, and butter. It is a kid-favorite desert. So, if you are going to invite lots of kids in your picnic, you can choose dirt as the main dessert item.

On the other hand, margarita pie is made of pretzels, ice cream, butter, tequila, orange liquor, lime, frozen limeade concentrate, and sugar. The salty pretzel crust of the pie is really amazing. It is rather suitable for adults. So, you can include the item in your pool party or picnic with your friends.

You can carry along both the items and keep them cool in a cooler with an ice bag or ice block.

Choose a Quick Dessert

If you cannot arrange for carry-along desserts, you had better look for items that can be made quickly and served instantly. Tiny-sized s’mores are more than perfect for any Fourth of July party. These mini summer desserts are very easy to make. Grill marshmallow-stuffed graham crackers for just a few seconds and dip them in melted chocolate. Decorate the chocolaty part with sprinkles or nonpareils to give them a festive touch.

Healthy Fruit Salad

Summer is the season of various colorful fruits. So, any fruit salad item can be used as the dessert of your party meal. The item, which will be a healthy addition to the menu, can be made easily. Your guests cannot simply resist tasting a combination of different colored tropical fruits on a large bowl or plate. You can also make a salad of various types of berries exclusively, which are very common summer fruits. Make a patriotic combination by mixing up red, white, and blue raspberries, cranberries, blueberries, strawberries, blackberries, and mascarpone cheese.

Sundae or Milk Shake

A milk shake or sundae may sound too simple and common but it will be perfect for a party in a hot summer day. Make sundae with ice cream, syrup, whipped cream, sugar, and blueberries or strawberries. As sundae is very easy to make, you can prepare the item just before serving your guests. Otherwise, entertain your guests with icy, refreshing milk shake. You can give the drink a patriotic hue by mixing up vanilla ice cream, strawberry ice cream, and blueberry smoothie together.
