Creative Ideas to Celebrate your Labor Day Holiday

Entry #2779, August 24, 2013

The calendar tells us that summer bids adieu in mid September; however, we know that the unofficial end to the season is Labor Day weekend. So, don’t let this fun season slip away without a proper send off. Instead, take this as an opportunity to enjoy one last summertime celebration before back to school routine sets in. Here are some fun and interesting ways to celebrate Labor Day weekend.

All white party

There is this old-fashioned rule that no one should wear white post Labor Day. Whether you plan to follow this rule or not, have a little fun with this fashion law by hosting an all white Labor Day party. Apart from the obvious-dressing up in all white outfit, incorporate this color element in every detail of your event. For instance, adorn the tables with white tablecloths, hang white lanterns above your patio. For centerpieces, use white daisies or candles in white or transparent containers. Other items like cutlery, napkins, and more should also be in the same hue. The complete white theme will create a clean and fresh look for your farewell bash to the season.

Go Camping

Labor Day weekend presents an opportunity for the last summer camping trip. Barbecuing over a campfire, swimming, fishing, biking, and hiking are all great ways to celebrate the last unofficial summer weekend. But, remember to book your campsite in advance as this time of the year is quite busy for campgrounds.

Family Get Together

Labor Day is a perfect time for a family reunion. As it’s a national holiday, many people get this day off from work. Family reunion over this weekend can be just about anything barbecues, fishing, beach trip, or camping. Finally, take a trip to a carnival, parade, or fireworks display at the end of the weekend reunion.
