Trends evolve and our tastes evolve which is why it is often said that home decorating is an ongoing process and can never be complete. If you love decorating and re-inventing your home decor then keeping updated with the latest home decor trends can help your home look fresh and up to the minute. Here are my top three trends for this winter that must find a space in your home décor:
3 Creative Home Decor Trends to Try this Winter
1. Brass:
From sunburst mirrors in brass to entire bath tubs made out of the beautiful metal, brass has made a comeback in a big way. It radiates a golden hue that warms up the entire room. Modern or traditional, a couple of brass accents will add elegance and sophistication to your décor. Brass is also called the living metal and develops a patina over time which adds to the beauty of the metal. Create holiday vignettes on your mantel or coffee table by coupling brass candle sticks with other metallic accents in silver or gold.

2. Grass cloth:
Another trend that on the rise this winter is grass cloth. It is something that has been associated with the kitchen but the trend is slowing moving into mainstream decorating. Grass cloth has a beautiful texture that can lighten up a room. The texture adds depth and warmth to bare walls and is perfect for winter. Use grass cloth as a wall paper for your room or if you want to start slow, look for grass cloth covered mirror frames.

3. Chunky knits:
We are seeing oversized, cable knit sweaters and wraps all over and the trend has been adapted by the home décor community as well. Chunky knits are warm and cozy, just perfect for winter decorating. Look for the trend in the home décor section and you will see lampshades dressed in cable sweater, mug warmers, even dinnerware with cable knit design. If you have a few old hand knitted sweaters somewhere in the attic, now is the time to re-purpose them for your home décor.

Think of innovative ways to adapt latest trends in your home décor. Remember that when you add something new you must also edit something old. This will avoid clutter build up and you can keep rotating your pieces without them looking worn out.
