Making your own DIY stamps is fun and really easy. It is a great activity for kids, but also a perfect way to make your own greeting cards, wrapping paper or decorations. They are inexpensive to make and the materials you’ll need are probably already in your home or else easy to find in any craft store. Here is how.

DIY How to Make your Own Stamps
Materials
– Foam stickers, foam sheets or small wooden shapes
– Lids, bottle caps, corks, wooden blocks etc.
– Glue
– Scissors and templates (when using foam sheets)
How to make
Gather all your supplies for making your diy stamps and make sure your lids, caps or whatever you want to use have an even surface.
If you are using foam stickers, just stick them on your lid or cap and you are ready to stamp away! That easy! Equally easy is to glue on your base a small wooden shape. Note that different materials make different textured stampings.

If you want to make you own shapes, take the foam sheet and using a template (or a cookie cutter) draw the outline of the desired shape. Keep in mind to keep the size of the shape small enough to fit on your lid, cork etc. Cut it out. Glue them on the lid, cap etc. and you have your own stamps right there.

If you want to make letter stamps, don’t forget to glue them on wrong side up so the stampings will come out correctly.

To make it challenging, try to make stamps with a variety of geometrical shapes and see what you can create with them. Also, you can use a larger wooden block to glue on more shapes, in order to create a pattern for stamping larger items, like wrapping paper.
