How to Safeguard your Home from Fire
One of the safety concerns at home is fire. This unpleasant incident may turn all your properties into ashes. To prevent a fire incident in your home, here are a few fire safety ideas:
- Make sure to keep your backyard clean and clear of flammable materials. For instance, trees with long branches that tend to touch your roof should be trimmed. Dried leaves and twigs may drop on your roof and cause fire especially when exposed to direct sunlight.
- Your firewall is also very important. This can be made up of a concrete wall that will prevent the fire from spreading once at your home. In case your home is built in the woods or light materials, you may insert a metal sheet in between partitions. Most single family dwellings don’t have firewalls, while multifamily housing and many attached urban dwellings have fire separation walls.
