Front door decoration
If you are hosting the dinner this year, use Thanksgiving bounty to greet your guests. Use acrons, Indian corn, and dried leaves tied with a ribbon or raffia to decorate your front door. For the porch, place variety of pumpkins and gourds at the side of the door.

Decorate with aroma
Create a warm and welcoming feeling throughout your home by using aroma candles and potpourri. Light a pumpkin or apple scented candle in very bedroom and bathroom. Simmer a bowl of potpourri in the kitchen to evoke an instant feeling of Thanksgiving.
Use fall accessories
Replace light window treatments with thick dark jewel toned ones. To bring in the cozier element, change your cotton blankets and throws with faux fur or heavy knits. For bed sheets and throw pillows, stick to fall colors such as muted shades of gold, orange and red.

Kitchen and table
How about buying a set of thanksgiving themed or autumn inspired tableware? Accent it with matching place mats, napkins, and table runner. For the centerpiece, use tall candles for a perfect fall ambiance. Request each family member to give his/her thanks on a piece of paper and stick it on the fridge or make a collage.
