Nothing says summertime better than a road trip! There is something special about packing up friends or family and embarking on a cross-country journey. With a little planning and a tourism brochure or two, a fourteen day trip can end up being the adventure of a lifetime.
A great place to start is Seaside Heights, NJ. This is where the cast of MTV’s hit show “Jersey Shore” taped their 1st and 3rd season. There is plenty to do in Seaside including play games and ride the antique carousel on the boardwalk. There is also a great beach where people can swim or just work on their tans.
Next stop on the itinerary could be Pittsburgh, PA. Just a six and a half hour drive from NJ, Pittsburgh is a cultural gem. A top attraction is taking a ride to the top of Mt. Washington for a breathtaking view of downtown. Any visitors guide will mention Mt. Washington as a must-see attraction.
Continue westward to Indianapolis, a 6 hour drive from Pittsburgh. This metro area has a small town feel and has attractions like the River Walk, IMAX Theater, and the Indy 500 Museum. The people of Indiana are gracious and welcoming!
St. Louis is next on the itinerary and it’s just a little over four hours away from Indianapolis. There are dozens of popular attractions in St. Louis. A tourism brochure can help tourists find all the top places to visit so they don’t miss a thing. The St. Louis Zoo offers free admission and is a top-rated zoo in the country. Don’t miss riding to the top of the Gateway Arch or taking a chance with Lady Luck on one of the floating casinos in the area.
Keep moving west and visit Kansas City, a mere four hour drive from St. Louis. Taste the famous barbecue and listen for the sound of music floating through the air. Kansas is the home of the blues! Continue on to Denver, a nine hour drive from Kansas. Explore the Rocky Mountains and get a taste of unparalleled natural beauty.
From Denver, take an 8 hour trip to Salt Lake City, UT where there is no shortage of activities. After enjoying its beauty, get a dose of pure fun with a drive to Las Vegas! Located just 6 hours from Salt Lake, this is a must-see place for everyone. A visitors guide lists all the attractions, including helicopter tours of the strip and the exciting shows that take place each night.
Great places to stop on the way back east would be Roswell, NM, Dallas TX, Memphis TN, Lexington KY, and finish up in Washington D.C. Turn a two-week summer roadtrip into the experience of a lifetime with family and friends!
A visitors guide to any area is spectacularly useful especially if you really want to have fun your first time at a location.
