Have you ever noticed that some people are renowned for complaining about the lack of sunshine we get in the Summertime, yet when it comes around we don’t quite know what to do! Aside from the usual barbecues and beers saga, many people are at a loss of what to do in their gardens. Why not make the most of the sunshine before the fall comes around, by aiming to do at least 3 new fun activities in the garden this summer?
Buy a Hammock
There are many different hammocks available from designer garden furniture stores. They’re great for relaxing in and are far more comfortable than a garden bench. You can settle down to a great book when you have spare time or stargaze with your partner at night time.

Build a Birdhouse
Teach your children about wildlife this summer in a fun way by helping them to build a birdhouse. There are many different guides to building a birdhouse safely available online. Once the construction is complete, you and your children could even take photographs of the different birds which visit to see how many different varieties are in your garden throughout the year.
Organize a Garden Treasure Hunt
Children love nothing more than treasure hunts and if it gets them off their gaming consoles and into the fresh air then it’s worth a try. You could make it the hunt more interesting by having their friends round to compete against each other in groups. The prize at the end doesn’t have to be high value; it just has to be an exciting hunt!
Build a Tree House
If you’re sick of your children hanging around the house this summer build them a tree house in the garden. It’s perfect as it’s an exciting place for a child to be yet still in the garden so you can be assured of their safety. Even if you don’t have children you could build one for you and your partner to relax in on warm, summer nights.

Have a Midnight Garden Feast
Create some romance between you and your partner on a summer night by having a starlit picnic. If you don’t have garden lights you could get a firepit to keep you warm and provide light, plus they save on electricity! You could even take a wireless audio device outside to listen to music whilst having your picnic. It’s the perfect budget, romantic meal.
Making the most of the British Summer with your family will not only bring you closer, you’ll also feel like you’ve made the most of it. We don’t get the best of weather here in the UK, so treasuring the days which are pleasant is important.
