Color blocking is not only a fashion trend; it is an interior design trend as well! If you love occasionally wearing a color- blocked dress that stands out, then perhaps you’d like your home to stand out as well. There are many ways you can add this trend to your home without overdoing it and in fact, it will be the perfect addition. The rule of thumb is to stick with three different colors per room to prevent a cartoonish look. Embrace spring time color in the form of appropriate color- blocking and have fun redecorating or adding to a charming home.

In addition to brightening up your home, it is just as important to make sure everything within your home is in working condition before you revamp your home with color. Your windows may need replacing, especially if they weren’t high-quality to begin with when you first built your home. Find excellent companies such as Chicago window that will assist with window replacement and installation. Think of other home repairs that may need attention and then feel free to revamp your home with color-blocked elements. Your new windows will look wonderful embellished with color-blocked curtains!

Currently there are many bathroom elements available that make it fun to redecorate your home. Find a colorful curtain that’s made with three different colors in rich tones. This type of shower curtain will stand out in your bathroom and guests will love the way a happy bathroom makes them feel. Reinvent Your Bedroom and Energize the Space
If your bedroom is currently done in neutrals and you love a calming retreat, a colorful bedroom can have the same effect. Since spring is here and summer is well on its way, a colorful bedroom will make you feel energized every day. Color-block your bedroom by adding two different solid pillowcases on your bed that come in different colors. Place a smaller pillow that’s a completely different color on top of the other two solid colored pillowcases. Next add throw blankets that are the same color as the smaller pillow to the bottom of the bed and keep the bedspread in a neutral tone such as beige and white. The pops of rich color in your bedroom will do wonders for your daily outlook.
There are several other ways you can color-block your home too. Paint each level on your book case three different colors and mix and match different colorful salad and dinner plates in your dining room for elegant meals. Pretty soon your entire home will be color-blocked and it will truly feel like spring time has arrived.
