The trend in bathrooms right now is gearing towards creating the ultimate crisp, clean spa environment. With everything trending towards clean, crisp metals, and minimalist bathrooms – why not try something different? Why not reject the trends and go for an outdoorsy, rustic style bathroom – you never know, you just may be setting the next trend!

Rustic doesn’t mean old and worn-out:
The first step to creating your very own rustic retreatisremembering that you can still have a rustic-feeling bathroom with modern-day appliances and appeal. You can still have nice heated tile flooring, a walk-in shower, and tub in a rustic bathroom. If you are interested in where to get showers buy crosswater showers online at Bathrooms365.com. The difference is the style of these elements; you will want to pick tile with a time-worn appeal, possibly terra cotta colors with an old-age look; a claw foot or old-style copper soaker tub also gives a luxurious, yet rustic appeal.
Wood means rustic:
By adding a lot of wood elements, you can quickly transform your bathroom. Try adding false wood beams to the ceilings, or wooden wainscoting on the walls. You could even add some old beach driftwood as décor elements in the room.
Add furniture:
Think outside the box. Why not add some furniture into your bathroom space? Look around your home; add that old wooden rocking chair or rustic dresser into your bathroom. These elements can go far in adding rustic appeal and are great for storage of towels and toiletries.

Add Mother Nature:
What speaks rustic-style more than Mother Nature’s offerings? Go on a walk through the woods, looking for all things rustic. Collect rocks, twigs, leaves, acorns, pinecones, and anything else that appeals to your rustic sensibilities. Beach glass, sand, driftwood, and seashells can also create wonderful rustic décor. Think about filling glass jars with sea glass, or acorns for a pretty look with a nod towards nature. If you find long pieces of driftwood then use them for hanging window treatments by simply anchoring them to the wall over your bathroom window and tying gauzy curtains to them.

My kind of bathroom! Thanks for showcasing the warmth the rustic style brings to a room. And why shouldn’t that room be the bathroom? With clean white tiles, warm wooden structures, tarnished mirrors, and soft towels – let the bliss begin!
