For many homes the conservatory has become an extra sitting room and a place to relax and enjoy a little peace and relaxation. It is therefore important to make the most of the space and to create an atmosphere that is right for you. Whether you are considering creating a new, elegant living area or simply freshening up the conservatory you already have, it is important that you choose the right, good quality furniture that you can enjoy for many years to come.

Create a look that’s right for you.
Furnishing your conservatory gives you an opportunity to try out new and exciting ideas and to experiment with new fabrics. Whether your taste is for a contemporary or a more traditional style, there is a wide range of conservatory furniture on offer. Fabric options are an important consideration and ideally the covers should be made in either a washable or dry cleanable fabric and designed to be removable for easy cleaning. It is also important to check that the fabrics are both fade resistant and mildew resistant. Once you have checked all these boxes, have fun choosing your dream colour scheme.

Selecting the right furniture
With conservatory furniture you need to look for pieces that are designed specifically to give a comfortable, yet casual, feel. If space is a premium then a 3-piece suite is the ideal choice. If you have a larger area then you might want to consider a 6-piece suite or alternatively, if you are looking for something in between then it is possible just to order the pieces that meet your requirements.
Ideally conservatory furniture is made from simple, lightweight materials that are easy to move around. Cane and rattan are popular choices as they are the most suitable materials for areas which experience high levels of direct sunlight and, possibly, humidity. You will find that, unlike wood, these materials will not split or warp under sunny conditions. The exotic sounding banana leaf is also an ideal choice for conservatory furniture as banana leaves have very strong fibres which, when dried and twisted, are exceptionally resilient. As an added bonus, all of these materials are very easy to maintain, needing only the occasional wipe over with a soft cloth.

The finishing touches
Finding the right accessories for your conservatory is important to complete the look you desire. The addition of a matching occasional table or a footstool and a few extra scatter cushions will certainly complement the conservatory area and help you to express your individuality. Whatever you decide, you can be sure that you are creating a living space that you can enjoy for years to come.
