Consider your neighbourhood context:
What are the colours my neighbours are using in painting their houses? Are they all in uniform colour scheme? The answers to these questions should help you decide on what colours to use in painting the outside of your home so that your building does not look like the odd one out.
Durability of the chosen colour:
You may not know this but when you paint the exterior of your house with darker colours like deep red and vivid blue, they tend to fade faster because they absorb heat and moisture at a greater percentage than lighter colours. Based on this, if you go for darker colour shades, bear in mind that you will need to repaint the same house in a matter of a few years.

Thanks Ronique! As a siding contractor, I couldn’t agree more about the importance of exterior colors. One of the most important decisions with homeowners is always the color of the siding and trim, and the amazing colors available. Some people love the bold colors like blues and reds, and want to have that attention of their neighborhood, other people opt for nice, natural colors, that are still beautiful and eye-catching. Siding offers so many color options, and offers the opportunity to add personality and character to a home!
