Entry #531, May 23, 2011
I’m delighted to have been invited to be a keynote speaker at Interior Designer Chat’s – Education & Design Worth Spreading conference this June 14th – 17th in Chicago. I will be sharing top design blogger secrets, from writing for home publications, and getting guest bloggers for your blog site, to taking the plunge from blogging occasionally to becoming a professional blogger. I have been fortunate to write for highly trafficked blogs such as Freshome and MyDeco US, and be featured on Problogger. I will share tips for finding a niche to stick with for your blog, and share what has helped me create longevity in my design blog career.

If you are a designer, architect, interior designer, blogger, or a home enthusiast interested in the profession, this year’s event is where you will want to be!
The conference will have a host of parties, educational events worth CEU’s (Continuing Education Units), industry leaders and also joining me to keynote speak is James Swan, who will be discussing “Finding (and Exploiting) Your Niche In the World of Design”. The conference also features a design challenge, and a sponsored dinner by Kraft Maid Cabinetry. Other sponsors for the event include, Denova, Brizo, Dream Walls Glass.
I’m especially excited, as this year’s event will coincide with NeoCon.
If you’re not familiar with Neocon, it is an annual trade show to:
‘Discover thousands of innovative products and resources for corporate hospitality, healthcare, retail, government, institutional and residential interiors from more than 1,200 showrooms and exhibitors. NeoCon is where the contract industry kicks off its year.’
The days will be accompanied with free time to explore Chicago, shop, as well as attend parties in the evenings and join us for a live Interior Designer Chat chat at the new Brizo Showroom in the Merchandise Mart.
For those who want to learn more about Google Sketch Up, iPad Design and Apps, and a feature from Sarah Reep on “Understanding Gen Y”. For a full list of the Schedule of Events visit the IDC Events page.
Time is running out, and space is limited, to sign up and get more information about Interior Designer Chat’s – Education & Design Worth Spreading conference, and register for the conference. Travel information and details can also be found on the Interior Designer Chat events site.
Get ready to enjoy Chicago!

I have never been to Chicago but the skyline is very surreal. I like to be there soon. Hopefully in the near future.
