Disclosure: I was compensated a Hamilton Beach Juicer for review. All opinions are strictly my own.
For the last 3 years I have been drinking juicing recipes to keep up my vegetable intake but I also love the fresh taste! You may remember my first Hamilton Beach Juicer review on Stagetecture in 2012 and I’m excited to pair up with them again to feature their larger model juicer. The Hamilton Beach Big Mouth® Plus 2 Speed Juicer! It has much more power and I’m going to share with you how I keep juice longer in your refrigerator so you don’t have to juice as often.

Juicer Review: How to keep your green juice longer:
I have heard a lot of people say they don’t like to juice because they have to bring out the juicer too often and it takes too long to clean afterwards. I solved this dilemma by doubling the above recipe and storing the juice in mason jars. If you’re not familiar with mason jars – I use Ball mason jars you can get them here. They have 3 pieces – a ring lid, a sealing metal disk and the jar. This enables the air to be kept out of your juice and will preserve it longer in your refrigerator. Instead of your juice lasting 24-36 hours – mine last 4-5 days!
What is different about the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Juicer Plus?
- Fits whole foods for less precutting
- Powerful 1.1 Hp motor with 2 speeds
- Large 40 oz. BPA-free juice pitcher with lid & froth separator
- Dishwasher safe parts
- Recipes and cleaning brush included
- Easy to assemble and store – just insert the strainer and lock on the lid with latches.
- No special tools needed
What I love most is the 2 speeds that allow you to chop up kale and more fibrous vegetables quicker. I also like the juice collection container is larger and features a froth filter on one side, so all the foam strains away from your finished juice. The larger size mouth also allows for whole apples and larger fruits and vegetables so I didn’t have to cut everything into small pieces.

What are the benefits of juicing? Living Greens.com gives these tips:
Whole fruit or juice
Did you know that 95% of the vitamins and enzymes our bodies need are found in the juice of raw fruits and vegetables? We would need to eat 2 lbs of carrots, 10-12 apples, or 8 lbs of spinach to get the same amount of nutrients you receive in one 16 oz juice. When you drink juice, highly concentrated vitamins, minerals and enzymes rapidly enter the bloodstream absorbing all of the nutritional benefits of the fruits and vegetables and giving your digestive organs a much-needed rest.
When to juice
“We think it’s best to drink our juices the same day they are pressed. As soon as any juice meets the air it begins to oxidize, compromising its nutritional value. However, storing our full juices in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed glass jar slows this process. The best time to drink juice is on an empty stomach or at least an hour before eating a meal. This maximizes the amount of nutrients absorbed into the body. Of course, fresh pressed juice is still loaded with health benefits even if you can’t drink it during the recommended window.”
