Root Beer Float Chocolate Fudge Recipe
Total time: Preparation time 15 minutes + Cooking 15 minutes + Chilling
Yields: 81 servings
Chocolate Fudge Recipe Ingredients:
1 teaspoon + ¾ cup butter, divided
3 cups sugar
5 ounces evaporated milk
10 to 12 ounces white baking chips
7 ounces marshmallow crème
½ teaspoon vanilla extract
2 teaspoons root beer concentrate
Chocolate Fudge Recipe Directions:
- Line a 9-inch square baking pan with foil. Grease the foil with 1 teaspoon butter. In a large heavy bottom saucepan, combine milk, sugar, and remaining butter. Bring to a quick boil over medium heat, stirring constantly. Cook and stir for 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat. Stir in marshmallow crème and baking chips until melted. Pour 1/3 of the mixture into a small bowl. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In the remaining mixture, stir in root beer concentrate immediately spread it into prepared pan. Spread vanilla mixture over top. Refrigerate for 1 hour or until firm.
- Using foil, lift the fudge out of the pan. Remove foil and cut the fudge into 1-inch squares. Store between layers of waxed paper in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
This dessert recipe is sure to make your mouth water and tummy grumble. To get the best results, make sure to use good quality butter and never substitute it with margarine as it can cause the fudge to get thin and watery.
