Bathrooms should be a place of tranquility, but if you’re anything like me, yours is probably overrun with clutter. From my husband and kids stripping and dumping their clothes on the floor, to a ridiculous amount of rubber duckies and bath toys scattered underfoot, my bathroom just never stayed clean. Eventually I brain stormed some bathroom organization ideas. Here are some quick tips to gaining control of the chaos of your bathroom the way I did.

1. Install Shelves
We scrutinized our bathroom and realized every corner, blank wall, and above-fixture space is the perfect place for shelving. Where there had been no room to hide our clutter, we made room. Any home improvement store has a multitude of over toilet organizers. We bought one with two visible shelves and a cabinet. This is the perfect place for extra toilet paper, razor blades, shampoo and cleaners- all things that we couldn’t keep under the sink, thanks to the curious little ones that roam our floors.
We also installed towel racks with built in shelving units. These chic shelves are a great space to store fabric lined wicker baskets, which I found was an attractive way to hide our nicknacks. Use shelving to your advantage. If you don’t have the space, make it!
2. Use Containers–
As a mother of three, I am fond of container organization. Anything to keep little hands out of my beauty supplies, medications, and other dangerous objects. Container storage is available in all shapes and sizes. From do it yourself mason jars that screw into the underside of a shelving unit, to wicker baskets, collapsible baskets, and clear or colored plastic containers- to name a few! -there is some type of container storage to fit every bathroom. Find what works with your decor and buy several- you’ll thank me when you have somewhere to toss your junk!
3. Color Coordinate–
I was tight on space, and despite my organizing efforts, there just wasn’t room in the new cabinets for things like lotion, hand soap, and shampoo. But I am the type that hates manufacturer bottles. Like, hate with a passion! It took me awhile to figure out that you don’t have to be stuck with the manufacturer packaging. All of my shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion are in separate colored bottles that coordinate with my bathroom theme. No more ugly packaging! Now, instead of hiding my bottles, I can display them right in plain sight without them being an eyesore. How great is that?
4. Use the Walls–
Curling irons, hair dryers, flat irons, electric razors- oh my, my bathroom had a lot of corded devices! Instead of having them lying around with all those cords piled up into one big jumbled mess, I decided to install wall mounts for each individual unit. Now I have a place for my hair styling tools and I don’t have to dig through the mess, saving myself time and patience- something I’m quite low on these days.
In the shower, we bought easy to install baskets that slip right over the shower head to hold our shampoo, soap, and razors. Which was convenient since having the razor on the tub edge was not okay around our kids, and I would always get into the shower without remembering to get my razor out of the cabinet! All of my kids’ toys are now off the floor with the installation of mesh nets in the tub, as well.
If you want a dream bathroom, fear not! It is doable with my-bathrooms.co.uk! Your bathroom is a room that can quickly become disorganized and chaotic, but if I cleaned up mine, anyone can!
