One of the current favorite trend with interior stylists that will continue to soar to new heights in 2014 is vintage decor. Vintage pieces develop a beautiful patina over the years which will add beauty and character to your home. Vintage decor pieces radiate warmth that can make a room feel cozy and homely.
Vintage Decor: Creative Tips to Beautify your Interiors
Here are three creative tips to beautify your interiors with vintage décor:
1. Display a vintage collection:
From tin nutcrackers to a collection of old bottles, display your collectibles as collections to make it much more impactful. You can also mix figurines, artworks and found objects together to create a visually beautiful display. Use the space on the wall by installing ledges for display. Create vignettes on your fireplace mantel with these pieces. Add a few vintage elements on your coffee table as well. Honor your family history by framing and displaying old photographs.

2. Soften your decor with vintage plates:
If you have clean line, modern furniture at home, then give your décor an unusual twist by creating a gallery wall with vintage plates. The circular plates will help soften the straight lines in the room. Look for old plates at garage sales. Chances are that you will be able to lay your hands on hoards of single plates at throw away prices.

3. Repurpose your old furniture
Re-purposing old, found furniture will not only add a vintage charm to your home but is also a sustainable and eco-friendly option. Look for old furniture like dining tables, vanity and cabinets at garage sales or auctions. Give them a facelift by coating them with a few sprays of color. Change the knobs and other hardware if required. You can sand the color down for a worn out effect. Think of innovative ways like using a re-purposed vanity in the bathroom.
