5 Inspiring DIY Paper Wall Art Ideas for your Home

Have you ever thought about using creative crafts such as paper ideas to decorate your walls? We use paper everyday.  Think about it: the sticky note reminders we leave on the refrigerator, the memo fax on our desk, the homework assignments our kids turn in, even the love filled birthday cards that we give away.  Paper is all around us and how about we make one more use for it by designing our very own rooms with it.  Below are some paper ideas that you and your children can fix up and put up in their rooms.

Disclosure Resources

1. Origami

The most common and widely known form of paper art is origami. Origami can be great wall ornaments because of the shapes and colors that the craft has.  It will be like having mini sculptures or accent pieces in the rooms.  Your kids will love doing creation of the origami pieces and having them displayed in their rooms will be exciting for them as well.

2. Paper flowers

Paper flowers are soft and graceful, they will work best within a girl’s room.  Add the flora pieces to the walls and see how they can create a live like garden all around.  It will be almost as a wonderland for the space with the whimsical pattern and flow of the flowers.

3. Lanterns

Paper lanterns are so festive and fun add them to the room.  Take a look at the image above and see how the different patterns, textures, colors all contribute to the awe of the room.  This too should be a fun and easy craft for your kids to make.  Just choose the wall or craft paper they would like, scissors, ribbon and cut and tie the paper to their pleasing then hang.

4. Paper Cup Lamps

“Let there be light,” create your very own paper cup light fixtures for your rooms.  Do you have some old Christmas lights hiding in the garage or attic somewhere then put them to good use.  Purchase some paper Dixie cups with different designs on them and cut small holes at the bottom of the cups. Then,  flip the cup upside down and insert the light bulb in the small hole and repeat this process for each light until all are covered.  Lastly,  hang the lights anywhere that the kids want within their space.

5. Paper Fans

Paper fans will give off the similar affect as the paper flowers, origami and lanterns.  The paper fans have the unique details in them that will be amazing in any room because it can look as if it is spinning while it is not moving.  Plus, making the fan is completely easy and fun!
