Astrological signs show how differently we each go about satisfying our basic human needs.  Right up there with food, shelter, and love are the psychological needs for control and success. Astrological signs are in full force when organizing work space which is the means to be in control of the environment which supports career success.

My features on Stagetecture will help you enjoy your home and make your environment perfect for you!

Come back on Sunday for the Water Signs: Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces!

An Air Sign Environment

Air signs:  Gemini, Libra, Aquarius

Thinking, analyzing, idea-people type people — don’t like the rigid & limiting

________________________________________________

Gemini: Thinking, communicative, connecting people

Gemini_My 22_Jn21

Desk:

Gemini’s mind never stops, so environments that are grounding will help bring needed relaxation.    The desk can be just about anything as long as it not placed as a barrier between the Gemini-connector and the visitors.   It should accommodate a lot communication activity–  papers, electronics, and device docks — desk-top outlets would be a hit and pro-active planning (Gemini’s are first in line for the latest communicating device).

Plus, they do change their mind every other minute, it seems; they routinely change direction, change course, and quickly can go from tech item to tech item. Think stabilizing and grounding, but helping not limiting.  Well-organized and structured immediate desk environment could do wonders for productivity while desk-seated.  Having things at arm’s reach for this waylays the likelihood of distraction the Gemini is prone to if up and walking around.  There may be a strong attraction to pens and pencils… either in amount or quality; it’s the writing thing. If so, spiffy holders would be welcome– drawer or table-top sorts.

Gemini’s like a well organized and structured desk area

Most Gemini’s have that classic desire to write a book … they tend to love books.  Accommodating bookshelves are important; have a small one next to the desk for books often used… at an arm’s reach. Bookshelves, open or enclosed a given…unless, the complete transfer to Kindle is in effect.

Decor:

You, the décor orchestrator, need to fortify yourself with 2 pieces of insight: one, things will constantly change in the Gemini world, and, two, there are going to be a bunch of people around all the time.  Here’s a practical idea I know you’ll never go for — put all furniture on wheels—then easy to change around.

Yellows typically are pleasing for its mind-stimulating quality.  The blues and greens will be appreciated for soothing the high-strung-nerves; definitely consider a Zen fountain. Do something ingenious with all those electronic wires and you’ll be a hero. If you can implement anything that effectively structures work organization, you’ll be nominated for sainthood.

Libra: Co-operating, debating, creative people

Libra_Sp24_Oct23

Desk:

The desk just has to be discussed along with the chairs, tables, shelves, curtains, flooring, and all colors in mind — preferably with no distracting breaks between sentences.  Libras are logical and analytical.  They love to discuss in a way others would call challenging debate, ever-interested in finding the best solution out of a sea of never-ending possibilities.  Help Libras so they don’t endlessly tread water. Libra is a partner-type, often being more creative and productive when harmoniously teamed-up with another. A brilliant strategy, for you the expert, is to suggest and encourage (never boss), leading Libras to “their own” decisions.

Decor:

Beauty and harmony pretty much define what Libra is all about…in everything.  That makes things clear from the outset: no make-it-do’s, no bargains that hijack excellent taste; however, a good deal on the exquisite is quite exciting and certainly would establish your consulting value. Otherwise, they will see “fabulous” possibilities in everything and you’ll be wading through this project for years.

Libras like simple and romantic elegance

The Libra taste scale runs from simple elegance to tasteful luxury– lots of stuff but absolutely NEVER overdone.  In summation, hunt for bargains in the highest quality places to find inviting furnishings that accommodate brainstorming sessions and important meetings, as well as soothing moments with a special other.

I am still talking business here.  You know, though, how that can go… especially with Libra being among the most romantic signs.  Have those blues they love and striking weaves find they way into sumptuous fabrics, making everyone comfortable, and you’ll have a grateful Libra always ready for your “suggestions.”

Aquarius: Curious, brilliant, paradoxical, loner-people type people

Aquarius_Jan21_Feb19

Exactly. Loner people type people. Opposite behavior for the matter at hand… opposite, that is, compared with what, generally, every single other person on this Earth would do (well, seeming so).  Descriptors: erratic, eccentric, individualistic, inventive, tolerant, friendly, loner,     maverick…love to travel, like adventure. For interior design, put away the ole’ standards and speak innovative. They know everybody– and everybody will be invited, from the suits to the counter-cultures.

Desk:

Here are a few tips: bright and breezy, fun for everyone with a hideaway corner for one, and big window view. Aquarians are the original greeners…pro-environment, pro-animals, pro-everyone’s rights, so that at least tells you what not to buy.

Here’s an Aquarian-type idea: get a bunch of pictures of favorite travels and adventures (they love to travel). Arrange them some in unusual ways to “do” a wall.  Then get the pictures and the white, eco-friendly upholstery fabric to someone who prints on fabric.  Have these pictures smartly placed to make for a sensational pattern, for chairs or pillows, and this Aquarian will have an invention of a purely individualistic design, on eco-friendly fabric that coordinates with the wall display of favorite travels.

Give Aquarians views to the outdoors

Decor:

The Aquarian’s self-place: ask for preferences; use your instincts to  translate into innovative-design speak. Aquarians are their own trends.  Aquarians are fun, so have fun and be imaginative. Use fun, cheery colors (often like violet) and at least one piece of furniture that requires study before realizing what it is.  Create the space for open expression and you’ve done your job.  The loner in them needs a cave (could be a room corner “hideaway”), but with glass windows to people-watch, and an area to host more people than space seemingly allows.
