How to Make New Year’s Eve DIY Sparkle Crowns

Entry #3153, December 29, 2013

Making crowns for your family and guests is fun and so creative and who doesn’t love a good DIY project for New Years?. They are simple to make and the utensils you’ll need to make these pretty, glamorous crowns for your family or guests are easy to find. There are two options to make them, one using headbands and one using just floral wire. Go ahead and choose which will suit you best and let your imagination show you the way. This would be a great way to get your kids into a festive mood and help with the preparations for your New Year’s Eve party as well.

How to Make

  1. Using tinsel: Cut the long pieces of floral wire so they fit an adult or a child. Bend the wire into shape, wrap the ends and glue them together. Now glue a layer of your favorite tinsel garland on top. Next, make some triangles of different sizes out of the smaller pieces and glue them into place.
  2. Using plastic headbands: Prepare some V-shapes or stars out of pipe cleaners. To make the stars easier, you can use a template. When done, wrap the ends of the V-shaped pipe cleaners around the headband or use some extra matching pipe cleaner to secure the stars into place. Now, wrap the headband from prong to prong with your pipe cleaner.

You can decorate the crowns or leave as they are, since they are great even without extra décor. Glue the décor on or use pipe cleaner/tinsel to secure it, depending on what you want to use.

Make an abundance of crowns of different colors, shapes and decorations and display them properly to add both to the décor of your festive house and to give your guests a great variaty to choose from. That way, they can choose a crown that matches their personality and festive clothing if they like to!

These DIY Sparkle Crowns will add spark and glitz to any New Year’s Eve party and they will surely get your guests into a festive and cheerful mood!
