There are several air plants you can choose from like lonatha, Caput-Medusa, Junicea, Stricta, Concolor, Aeranthos and so much more. Of course, bottle lids are just around the corner. You can use the lids from your shampoo, air freshener, water bottles, and those lids that you think will best serve this project. Thanks Design Sponge for this great craft!
Materials Needed
- Bottle lids
- String (any color)
- Spray paint (any color)
- Air plants (any variety)
- Scissors
- Hammer and thin nail
Directions
- Spray the bottle lids using your desired spray paint color. You may have different color for each lid. Let it dry for at least 15 to 20 minutes.
- Make a hole in the top of the plastic lid using a thin nail. Make sure that the hole is not too big so you will not have difficulty to lock the string. Make a knot at the end of the string to serve as a lock.
- Prepare your air plant of choice. Cut carefully the air plant to fit into the bottle lid.
- Tie the air plant using the string so that it will continue to hold on the lid when hanged.
- Hang near your bathroom window. This is to allow the air plant to be exposed to sunlight. Also, water the air plant by steam or misting with a spray bottle.
This DIY craft is not only suitable for your bathroom but can also boost your patio, living room and other areas at home. Just don’t forget to take care of your air plants by exposing them to sunlight and watering them regularly. The healthier your air plant is, the better it looks in any area at home.
