My unhandy boyfriend put up floor tile as a backsplash in the kitchen of our old house. Now the tiles are not sticking to the wall! What can we do?

They are self stick tiles and when he first noticed that they were coming unstuck he went to the building supply and bought a can of 3M super 77 adhesive spray to spray to the unstuck parts without taking them completely off the wall. They still are not sticking!!

Can you help! Please, what would you suggest!
