Having friends over for a meal, to watch a film or simply for a night in together is always a great thing to do, but what if you are embarrassed about your house? This is more of a common problem than you might think and sorting it out can sometimes be a lot simpler than you imagine. I went through a spell where I hated my living room and just couldn’t work out how to sort it out.
In the end I decided to take things one by one and see if I could improve the whole room this way. I was pretty pleased with the end result and thought that I would list here a few of the things I did. None of them are particularly complicated but having them worked out from the start might help you on your way.
Remove the Clutter
If you aren’t happy with your living room then it is more likely that you want to reduce the amount of things in it than add anything else. It can be very hard to throw out anything which has a sentimental value so have a look first to see if there is another, less visited room where you can put them. As well as giving you more space it will also make it easier to clean the area and will probably give more a modern look as well. This is a job which is best done when you have plenty of spare time and you are in a good mood. A long weekend break is a great chance to clear out the place.

Brighten the Room with Paint
Isn’t it amazing how a coat of paint can instantly transform a room? If you choose a neutral tone then your living room will look like it belongs to a show home right away. I would recommend asking some friends over to help you do this, as you will get it sorted out a lot quicker and can make a fun day out of it by preparing some snacks for the workers as well.

Upgrade Your Old Furniture and Technology
Got an old sofa or a clanky old television? I had both and in the end simply gritted my teeth and got my bank card out to buy new ones. The sofa is really important as it is what most attracts the attention when you enter a living room, especially if the space is small. However, don’t forget the importance of your TV, stereo system and anything else you have on display. I got a surprise when someone told me about TV mirrors. If you haven’t come across these yet then they are a wonderful way to tuck your TV set out of sight. You will need to get a slim telly first, and these are a good bit cheaper now than they used to be. Then you can look at the range of TV mirrors to choose the right model. You then get the frame put on the television and when it is switched off it looks like a smart mirror instead of a television. Ideas such as these TV mirrors are going to make your room more attractive and encourage you to invite more people over to visit you.
With the latest TV mirrors you can hide your technology in a classy frame which blends into your living room. The choices from www.frameyourtv.co.uk will suit both your decoration and your pocket.
