Guest Blogger: The Benefits of Engineered Hardwood Flooring

On DIY Saturday #54 – we featured a post on how to shine and protect your hardwood flooring. Today, I show you how engineered hardwood flooring is for those who are interested in a more durable, and can stand up to moisture flooring than traditional hardwood flooring.

My Guest Blogger gives you the benefits of installing an engineered hardwood floor in your home.

Engineered hardwood flooring

The class and beauty of engineered hardwood flooring is well known in the home design industry. This kind of flooring brings out a furnished natural look that is very executive. The flooring is composed of a double layer of wood or more. The stability and durability of the flooring is in this day and age a fully blown secret. A flooring made of engineered hardwood appears more flat since the floor is actually real wood. Several other benefits linked to it have seen it’s popularity grow by a considerably impressive rate over the years.

One of the things that make most people disinterested in wooden flooring is the fact that wood is known to wrap or cup due to age or improper maintenance. Engineered hardwood flooring is crafted to make a flooring that is a lifetime investment. The wood used has controlled moisture content and is well seasoned to make a flooring very stable and also to ensure that the wood used does not shrink. The top most surface is polished with 7 layers of low emission European polyurathane. This gives it a more tough and smooth finishing. What makes the floor resistant to cupping is the fact that it has an expansion gap. This gap prevents your floor from bending or cupping when exposed to water or humidity. The floor is also crafted in cross-lamination which is another benefit that makes engineered hardwood flooring resistant of cupping and warping.

Another well known advantage of engineered hardwood flooring is its tight bevel. This means that you do not have to worry about shadow marks and lines which tend to be very frustrating As a matter of fact this type of flooring is easier to clean, the superior machinery used in its installation makes it stand out not only in appearance but functionality.

Personal preference is a delicate matter. Engineered hardwood flooring gives you a range of colors to select from. The colors have different staining s that make them unique and give them a touch of nature. The face grading of every piece is carefully hand selected by experts to make it even more easy for customer’s to get a choice that will impress them for a lifetime.

An engineered hardwood flooring gives a warm touch to a home and executive look to a commercial building.. Having such a floor may be expensive to install but looking at things from a broader scope it can be a onetime investment that will serve you for a lifetime. Finding an engineered hardwood flooring that can match your pocket is also catered for. Their are different grades that vary in price. Any customer can get something that is within his financial ability.

The type of flooring you choose talks a lot about who you are. A floor can make it or break it for you when it comes to taste. A well furnished floor will talk of a person with a sense of style and design. An engineered hardwood flooring would be one way of executing yourself as a person with a good eye for home design. What seals the deal is that the floor ages gracefully without any signs at all. An engineered hardwood flooring that was fixed 10 years ago would still look brand new today. This is the kind of flooring that is worthy of your hard earned money.
