How Astrology can Dictate your Decor Style & Home Environment

Guest Blog Entry #44 , Entry #405, February 2, 2011

Are you one of those people that have to read your daily horoscope to figure out how your day is going to unfold, or to help you be mindful of upcoming events? Whether you believe it or not, astrology is a huge factor in how you go through your daily life, and how you enjoy your environment around you.

Today, as we progress into “Making your home life easier” month at Stagetecture, I have a special treat for you!

Stagetecture is going to start having a regular feature called: “Astrology in your Home”. This feature will be brought to you by my good friend and Astrologer, Dolores Morford from away4u. As an introduction, over the next week she will break down the four group elements of astrological signs and show you how your personal decor style and home environment can be influenced by what sign you were born under.

'Astrology in your Home' on Stagetecture

In the upcoming weeks we will bring you weekly home tips to correspond with Stagetecture’s monthly themes, and home topics.

If you are trying to decide how to decorate your home or where to put the desk in your kid’s room, look to their astrological sign!

Today we focus on the FIRE SIGNS – Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius.

Dolores Morford

Incurably interested in human behavior, I have made several careers born of that engaging topic…   “us humans.”  I am a professional astrologer of 35 years and have had additional, co-existing professional backgrounds in sales/marketing, neuropsychology, and home remodeling…. which now adds up to: Life Coach/ Astrologer.  Notice a theme? People – their needs and behavior.  Out of all my education and experience, my conclusion is that astrology is the most insightful discipline available for understanding ourselves and one another.

Astrological signs show how differently we each go about satisfying our basic human needs.  Right up there with food, shelter, and love are the psychological needs for control and success. Astrological signs are in full force when organizing work space which is the means to be in control of the environment which supports career success.

My features on Stagetecture will help you enjoy your home and make your environment perfect for you!

Fire Signs home environment

Fire signs:   Aries, Leo, Sagittarius

Quick, Creative, On-the-move —- don’t like anything impeding progress

__________________________________________________________________________________

Aries: Action people

Aries_Mar21_Ap20

Furniture and storage:

Anything that manages details is a must; easy access to everything a given.

Décor:

At least one achievement plaque prominently placed;  sharp, with-it furniture; somewhere, some kind of accent in red tones.

Aries-red dining room

Aries should have a shot of red in their decor

Seating/Gathering Areas:

should be easy to move to accommodate different meeting and gathering situations that accommodate all the irons the fire Aries is known for – and never so comfortable that people will “over-stay.” Make sure the Aries desk-chair has wheels and swivels easily because Aries is on the move even when sitting.  A real live admin assistant (preferably an Earth sign) would be the single most important décor accessory.

Leo: Activity creating people

Furniture and storage:

Desk suitable for power-brokers and royalty.  Ample storage for everything Leo can think of needing to have on hand for wheeling and dealing projects. Leo wants to be prepared.  All the right set-up pieces for placing implements of power (i.e., gavel, up-town pen/pencil sets, electronics “no one” else has).

Leo_desk

Leo's likes striking furniture that commands attention

Decor:

Striking make-a-statement furniture is required; bright, well-coordinated colors and light streaming in. At least one prominently-placed picture of this Leo with a celebrity.  And the throne/desk chair needs to be ultra comfy and impressive.  Basically, the interest is in having everything at hand needed for commands to be carried out smoothly… and the comfort in which to do so.

Sagittarius: Likes open-spaces and freedom

Furniture and storage:

Desk placed near a window view of the great outdoors.  Hang pictures of the outdoors and free spirit activities.  This is especially a plus if the Sagittarius is in one who enjoys hang-gliding, surfing, or such.  Have the latest play-gadget on the desk. Storage includes a closet able to hold changes of clothing and a gym bag or suitcase.

Sag_open space

Sagittarius likes open space and views to the outdoors

Decor:

Sporty kind of easy-to-use furniture with organic motifs and lively colors.  A playful touch or whimsical touch is likely welcomed.  This one likes variety and travel…. daily.  Like the Aries, this one moves quickly from one thing to the next, so interior design needs to be based on facilitating movement…like, in and out of the office (a Sag pattern), around the office (for thinking and talking), and around the office looking for things (clear-cut, no-brainer storage/filling systems).

Come back tomorrow for the Earth Signs: Taurus, Virgo, and Capricorn!

For over 30 years, Dolores Morford –  has been a Life Management Counselor and professional Astrologer. Additionally, she uses the ancient wisdom of the Kabala as revealed in the Tarot. By combining various pathways for self and life understanding, she affords her clients a unique opportunity to best manage their lives and prosper in body, mind, emotions and spirit. For in depth information on your personal astrological info, cosmic calendars, coaching and more visit her at away4u.

And, for those who are wondering, the recent to-do about a 13th sign is totally off-base. (see my Feb. 2 blog on this at away4u.)
