How to Choose the Best Indoor Plants for Cleaner Air

With modern cities becoming more and more congested, it has become a lot harder to access clean air. Experts say that despite the congestion, outdoor air is still cleaner than indoor air because of the trees and plants. So, how do you make your indoor air clean? By bringing plants into your home. Plants come in many forms that but there are some that purify air more efficiently than others. Most of them are beautiful and will add instant appeal to your rooms. Without further ado, here are the best indoor plants.

Which plants are best for your indoor home?

Aloe Vera

Aloe cures many things: it soothes burns, detoxifies the body, and helps with digestion. However, it also doubles as an air purifier. It is easy to grow and requires little maintenance. While it needs lots of sunlight to flourish, you can grow it indoors during the cold season. Aloe gets rid of benzene and formaldehyde. Formaldehyde is found in furniture and building materials while benzene is found in detergents, pesticides, and adhesives.

Spider Plant

Do you lack a green thumb? Fret not. This plant is ideal for those who know little about gardening. It is resilient and can grow in the hardest of conditions. You’ll have a difficult time killing it even if you tend to neglect plants. It eliminates xylene, carbon monoxide, benzene, and formaldehyde. Xylene is a chemical found in paint thinners and many solvents.

Snake Plant

Nicknamed “Mother-in-law’s tongue,” the snake plant excels in eradicating formaldehyde. It thrives in areas with a small amount of light and steamy humid conditions. It absorbs carbon dioxide and discharges oxygen. Put one in your bathroom to add beauty and filter out air pollutants.

English Ivy

Sturdy and resilient, the English ivy flourishes in rooms with little sunlight. While many people like to grow it outdoors, it also makes a nice indoor plant. Its small leaves absorb formaldehyde and reduce fecal-matter particles – a feature that makes it ideal for people with pets. It also removes mold particles which lead to conditions like asthma and other allergies.

You’ll be more than glad you did.
