Memorable Father’s Day Celebration Ideas

Father’s Day is right around the corner, which means it’s high time you let dear old Dad  know how much you appreciate him. This year, ditch the tie and give him something he really loves. While no two dads are the same, here are some Father’s Day Celebration Ideas to get you thinking.

Have A Backyard BBQ:

Use the glorious summer weather to your advantage by moving the celebration outside this year. You could even make this a group celebration by inviting all the dads in your life to celebrate together. Cook up some steaks, but make sure you do all the grilling. Keep the beers cold and put the game on the radio. Set up some lawn games like bocce or horseshoes. Display old photos for decoration. With just a few steps you can transform your back yard into a Father’s Day paradise

Do His Chores:

Odds are that good your dad has a long list of DIY chores that need to be taken care of at some point. Take some initiative and give the guy a break. When you know he’ll be out of the house, go over and cross some of those items off. If you need help figuring out where to start, odds are good that mom will know. It’s a low cost way to show that you care and Dad will certainly love his newfound free time.

Make A Memory Bag:

This activity is simple to do and perfect for getting the kiddos involved. Take some construction paper and cut it out in the shape of a tie. Then, affix it to the front of a paper lunch bag and fold the top of the lunch bag over the tie like a collar. Have the kids decorate the bag with crayons or colored pencil. Then, when they’re done, have each member of the family write down one or two of their favorite dad-centric memories on a slip of paper. Store them in the bag, so Dad can reminisce.

Celebrating Father’s day should be about more than a quick card and perfunctory gift. Show him how much you care by spending time with him and paying attention to his interests. These Father’s Day Celebration Ideas are bound to get your Sunday off to a great start.
