Today we continue Stagetecture’s feature. ‘Olioboard Inspiration‘. Last week you enjoyed Mary Levin’s – ‘A Festive Irish Dining Room for St. Patrick’s Day‘ and this week I bring you Liah AIAmin a member of the Facebook Olioboard Fan Room. I asked her to create an Easter inspired room that was full of color, and she shows us a mature look at Easter without all of the bunnies and eggs!
If you’re interested in being featured see details here: How to be featured on Stagetecture’s Olioboard Inspiration‘ series.
This spring we all want to bring in fresh colors and incorporate the Easter holiday into our home décor! But without tons of eggs and bunnies everywhere. How do you make those crazy colors and ideas work in a room? Think about your past childhood memories of Easter.. What did you do and see? Curtains in the board represent those fun colored Easter eggs you and your mom dyed. The blue garden stools and curvaceous pink lamps sure remind me of Eggs! Decorative wicker baskets near the chair give visitors that holiday spirit without being too child-like. Notice the palm floor plant representing Palm Sunday! The coffee table with tree bark legs and dragonfly throw pillows instantly take you outdoors, where you probably had Easter picnics or gatherings! …Don’t forget about the fireplace mantle, decorated with numbered watering cans. A whimsical way to remind you of a special date!
Easter around the world: traditions
We all do things differently, from cooking to decorating and entertaining. Let’s go across the globe. Did you know that in Czech Republic and Slovakia women are playfully hit with whips, it is said and is believed to make women more beautiful and healthy. A tradition that gives more health and beauty? I’m all for it! In Britain they may play a game called “Egg Tapping”, where they throw eggs at one another and if your egg breaks last you’re the winner. Sounds like a lot of fun to me! Especially if you’re playing with that very special aunt that always compliments all of your fashion choices. Lol! Well, there are many different ways we can have fun and do things this Easter, from California to Colombia.. But however you spend your time this holiday, do it with love.
From my home to yours. Happy Easter!!
