Whether you’re a neat freak or an absolute junk hoarder you have ‘stuff’. If you’re a man or woman, a child or elderly person, it is in our nature to have accessories for everything. How do we know what accessory to use for what items?
Melonie Blanks, from Top To Bottom Interiors has been gracious enough to share her organizing accessory
expertise, and end the total confusion of what accessory fits each of our needs!
How many ways can you use organizing accessories? The answer is thousands. But the challenge and why I have so much fun helping people organize all their
items from bathrooms, to closets to kitchen cabinets is because there are so many choices. That is not to say my job is easy, it’s not. For as many people there are, the challenge is to match the accessory for the right purpose. It also takes a little ingenuity to know what that person will actually use and reap all the benefits of that accessory.
- College Student organization:
Let’s take Mary Ann for example. She’s a nineteen year old college student that is living away from home for the first time. Her mother isn’t there to fold her clothes or hang them up. What can be done to help organize her clothes, jewelry and the assorted personal hygiene items that she now has sprawled all over her dorm room? A few ideal accessories that will help Mary Ann manage her things are:
- Hanging Clothes Organizer
- Hanging Jewelery Caddy
- Hanging Toiletry Caddy
- Man of the house organization:
Here’s some ideas for the man of the house. I like to suggest this great key/phone magnet so he will never loose them again. From experience both with clients and even my own Dad, when you ask if they lost something, they inevitably say no. Men don’t think of accessories as we ladies do or that they would ever be helpful in keeping them more organized until you give them something like one of many great items. There’s a way to help him when it comes to shoes, maybe even one for hats. I’d like to think this is one way to keep them off the floor and the shoes in pairs. He’ll appreciate it in the long run.
- Key/Phone magnet
- Shoe Organizer
- Lawn Tool Caddy
And for Father’s Day, save Dad the extra steps back and forth to the garage with this sturdy caddy for holding all the tools he uses in the yard. Men collect toys too, just a different kind. Why not give an organizing accessory or two to make his life easier and more organized. For more great organizing ideas visit Womans Day.com
- Ladies organization:
For us Ladies, we have as many uses for organizing accessories as we have
clothes, shoes, purses, hats, make-up, lotions, jewelry and hair products. What can we do with all these? Here are some of the favorites I’ve had such success with.
- Accessorize your Vanity
- De-clutter the Bathroom Drawer
- Bins & Canvas Hangers
- Under-bed Shoe Storage
- Eco-Friendly Garment Bag
- Closet Purses Holder
- Eco Friendly Garment Bag
So consider some of these when you’re looking to make room in your closet or changing seasonal clothing from winter to summer. Challenging I dare say but worthwhile. We all have our favorite collections of things we hold precious and the fondness never wares off. So when it comes to managing your personal items why not keep them organized and know where to find that certain something when you need it.
There are literally thousands of options for organizing accessories in all shapes, sizes and for any purpose. They come in all colors and styles, made from eco-friendly materials to wood and acrylic. Have fun with your organizing projects and it will keep you functional and ready to meet tomorrow’s challenges.
Then there are kitchen and pantry accessories. Well, we’ll save that one for next time. Get organized from Top to Bottom.
