[ad#co-3]

BBQ Ribs Recipe Ingredients:

Pork ribs – 4 lbs

1 tsp smoke salt

1 tbsp paprika

1 tbsp garlic powder

1/2 tsp ground red pepper

3/4 cups brown sugar (light colored variety preferred)

2 cups barbecue sauce (use your favorite brand or flavor)

Barbecue Ribs Directions:

Pre-heat the oven to 150°C. Meanwhile take out the rough tissue from the bony side of the pork ribs.

In a bowl mix salt, paprika, garlic powder, ground red pepper and sugar.

Now rub the mix on the pork ribs using your fingers.

On a baking tray arrange for two layers of foil and place the ribs with the meaty side down. Now lay two layers of foil on the ribs and seal the edges by crimping the edges of the top and bottom foils upwards.

Cook for about 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Remove from the oven and check if the meat has shrunk away from the bones. If yes then its done, else put it back in the oven for another 15 minutes.

Heat the broiler and meanwhile cut the ribs into portions that are can be served. You can cut 2 to 3 ribs together.

Now arrange the ribs on the broiler with the meat side facing down.

Brush the barbecue sauce on the bony side and wait for it to bubble. Once that happens to flip the side and repeat the same on the other side.

Your pork ribs are done.

This summer barbecue works well with all sorts of meat like lamb and chicken apart from pork. You can even grill the meat once it is out of the oven. The use of foil while baking helps keep the flavors and juice intact and helps you toss up a succulent dish. Do share if you can think of any interesting twists to this recipe. It would be great to hear from you.
