Each year I am amazed by the power of the holiday season. It brings family and friends together in ways that are immeasurable and incomprehensible. This year I woke up on Christmas Eve morning thinking of the mountain of “to-do” items I needed to accomplish.

From still wrapping gifts, cooking, and last minute cleaning of the house, it’s always a mad rush to get everything done and still have energy to enjoy it all!

Last night, my family traveled to my Mom’s for Christmas Eve dinner as we do every year. Once I stepped in the door and saw my college son that I haven’t seen in almost a year, and all my kid’s together in one place – everything went out the window! No worries about what would get wrapped, what hasn’t been cooked, just the fact that the most important part about the holiday was having my loved ones sitting in one place enjoying being together.

This year my Christmas wish is for you to enjoy what is important in your life. Whether it’s your loved ones, pets, friends and family, the season is often forgotten amongst the “hustle and bustle”. Cherish the memories of ones who can’t be with you. My later sister and father are with me everyday and the generations of family that I remember from Christmases past always fills my mind with remembrance. This season take a breath, and enjoy all that you hold dear.
