Who doesn’t love an easy fudge recipe at the holidays? Christmas is a perfect time to try all those recipes you’ve been longing to. If your family enjoys fudge, try these two fudge desserts. The fudge looks very festive and is a perfect Christmas dessert. If you are giving food gifts, make it with other candies and cookies. Put several in all your Christmas packages to wow your family and friends. Candy cane fudge is a welcome change from the regular chocolate with nuts fudge everyone else makes. We also love a variation of a traditional chocolate fudge with a unique add in – pretzels!

We have two delicious easy fudge recipes to try! The first is a chocolate fudge recipe with pretzels and the second is a vanilla fudge recipe with peppermint candy canes. Let us know which one is your favorite!

This Christmas dessert will help you to get into the Christmas spirit. It has a hint of mint flavor that is enhanced by the crushed candy canes on top. If you are taking the fudge to a holiday party, make lots of it because chances are people will gobble it up. You can also give it a twist for a special outcome. You can make a swirl effect instead of mixing in the food coloring before putting it in the refrigerator.

Christmas is about enjoying the warmth and togetherness with friends, family, and the dear one. The holiday becomes more enjoyable and savory when it is coupled with the taste and aroma of a classic apple pie. This version of apple pie has the tasty Granny Smith green apples and a crunchy buttery crust. Let us know if this Classic Christmas Apple Pie recipe soon becomes one of your family favorites!

Classic Christmas Apple Pie Recipe

A Christmas classic – apple pie

Image via: Cspies

Ingredients

The pie can be served to 12 persons.

• Pie Dough
• All-purpose flour (2 tablespoons)
• Peeled, cored, and sliced Granny Smith green apples (at least 12)
• Unsalted butter (2 tablespoons)
• 1 beaten large egg
• Sugar (¾ cups)
• Peel and juice of 1 lemon
• Pinch ground cloves
• Nutmeg (½ teaspoon)
• Cinnamon (1 and ½ teaspoons)

Take 1 or 2 teaspoons extra flour and sugar for dusting and pie top respectively.

Apple pie recipe

Image via: Nomu

Preparations

• Pre-heat the oven at 375°. Roll out the pie dough on a surface that is lightly floured.
• Make two 1/8-inch thick circles to a diameter a bit bigger than that of an 11-inch plate. Take the pie plate and press one pastry circle into it. Cover the other circle with plastic after placing it on a waxed paper.
• Chill all the pastry for almost 30 minutes until they become solid.
• Take a bowl and make a mixture of flour, apple, spices, lemon peel and juice, and sugar. Mix them well.
• Put the mixture into a pie pan. Fleck it with butter and wrap it up with the remaining pastry circle. On the top of it, make a few steam vents. Crimp the edges if you want to make it sealed.
• Brush the pie with the battered egg and sprinkle sugar on it.
• Bake it for almost 1 hour until the juices are bubbling and the crust is brown.
• Allow it to cool down on a wire rack.

Serve the delicious apple pie!

Some people may find the combination of Granny Smith apples and lemon juice way too tart for their tongue. In that case, a sweeter version of this pie can be made by excluding the lemon peel and juice and adding more sugar and butter. You can also use frozen pie crust.
