Ingredients

20 glazed doughnut holes

20 gummies or gummie Life Savers candies for the eyes

20 candy-coated milk chocolate candies (medium sized)

Premier white morsels (1 cup)

Solid vegetable shortening (2 tablespoons)

Red food color (2 drops)

Preparation

Line cookie sheet with waxed or parchment paper.

Take the doughnut holes and cut slices from the two opposite sides of each hole. The slices should be 1/8-inch thick.

Take the solid vegetable shortening and white morsels in a microwave-safe bowl. Place the bowl inside the microwave to melt the ingredients.

Now, take the doughnut holes and dip them into the morsels mixture. Dip one hole at a time and use a fork to do that.

After the coating, shake off the excess morsels mixture. Put the coated holes on the cookie sheet with their cut-side down.

Put the gummies on top of the coated doughnuts. After that, coat the chocolate candies with the morsels mixture and press the candies onto the gummies.

Let the doughnuts cool in refrigerator for 10 minutes until the coating is set.

Take two tablespoons of morsels mixture in a small bowl. Drop 2 drops of red food color into the mixture.

Now, use this red-colored morsels mixture to paint the eyeballs and scary veins on the doughnuts.

Let the doughnuts to chill in the refrigerator. Take out before serving. These eyeballs will make a simultaneously scary and fun Halloween treat. Kids will simply love to have a few of these eyeballs on their plates. They will definitely shout for more after the first bites.

Delicious bark desserts aren’t just for Christmas any more. Our newest dish offers a twist on everyone’s favorite sweet-and-salty holiday indulgence. A rich dark chocolate toffee recipe makes the perfect base for all your favorite Halloween candies. Serve this as an easy party dish before the big day or make it a few days later when you want to use up trick-or-treating leftovers. Either way, these sweet bites will be gone before you can say “Boo”.

Halloween Dessert: Candy Toffee Bark

Halloween candy bark is the ultimate sweet and salty treat.

[ad#co-3]

Prep Time: 10 minutes + time for cooling

Cook Time: 5 minutes

Yield: 24-36 pieces

Ingredients:

10 ounces mini pretzels (The square grid kind work really well.)

1 cup butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 ½ cups bittersweet chocolate chips

½ cup peanuts, chopped

½ cup popcorn, chopped

4 peanut butter cups, chopped

4 mini Mounds bars, chopped

3 mini Butterfinger bars, crushed

½ cup candy corn

Drizzle:

1/2 cup white chocolate chips melted

This halloween candy bark recipe is the perfect way to use up trick-or-treating leftovers.

Image Via: Taste & Tell

Preparation:

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.

Heat the butter and brown sugar together in a saucepan over medium-high heat. Bring the mixture to a boil, stirring occasionally until all the sugar dissolves.

Once it boils, bring the heat down to medium and let the mixture cook for an additional 3-4 minutes or until it becomes lightly golden brown.

Arrange pretzels in a single layer on a baking sheet that’s been lined with foil.

Pour the hot caramel over the pretzels. Transfer the baking sheet into the oven for 5 minutes.

Take the baking sheet out of the oven and immediately top with the chocolate chips. Allow the chips to set for 1-2 minutes or until they melt into the caramel.

Use a knife to spread the melted chocolate evenly across the whole pan.

Top the melted chocolate with your chopped candies.

Drizzle melted white chocolate over the bark.

Transfer the baking sheet into the freezer for 30 minutes or until it hardens completely.

Break the toffee into pieces before serving.

What’s better than an indulgent Halloween dessert? One that you can tweak to fit your family’s tastes, of course. The recipe above is a chocolate lover’s dream, but if you aren’t a fan, feel free to make a white chocolate version that’s been filled with your favorite gummy candies. If you’re a baker and have cookies on hand, a few of those would fit in just fine too. Be careful, though, because once you load this dish up with your favorite ingredients, you won’t be able to stop reaching for another bite.
