Thumbtacks are common features in offices. In fact, some people wouldn’t even know how to organize their duties without them. But did you know that the hardworking objects double as art? They can be used to create portraits, landscapes, and other lovely designs. Their small tiny dots can form beautiful images and patterns. If you’re looking to create a simple and elegant art project that will be the envy of your friends, try this one. After you see how beautiful your design looks, you’ll want to create many more. Use these step-by-step instructions to make your thumbtack art.

Thumbtack Art Project: Creative Craft to Try

Thumbtack craft to enhance any room in your home

[ad#co-1]

Supplies

House paint (acrylic or your favorite type)

Painter’s Tape

Thumbtacks (any color)

Stretched canvas (you can get more than one for different art projects)

Procedure

Paint your canvas. To create a beautiful design, choose paint color that contrasts with the color of the thumbtacks (For example, you can use brass thumbtacks and blue paint).

Use the painter’s tape to create a design. Make diagonal lines on one edge of the canvas and space them.

Affix the thumbtacks in the gaps created by the tape.

Peel off the tape slowly.

Your art project is done!

Make artwork you can be proud of

Image via: Lamano Invisible

How easy was that? There are numerous ways you can use thumbtacks to create beautiful designs. You can paint their tops different color shades or cover them with fabric for a homely look. Thankfully, our art project requires less complex detail. All you need is a little time and a few supplies and you’re good to go. Use brass thumbtacks or silver ones if you want to add a little gleam to your interiors. After you master the craft, you can use thumbtacks to make DIY décor, beautiful crafts, and even gifts.

What other fun art projects are you trying this season?
