If you are hosting a New Year’s Eve party, make this craft and captivate everyone. During the party, ask your family and friends to share their resolutions so you can keep each other motivated throughout the year. Goals are hard to achieve on your own but easier when you have plenty of support. You can also make the tree the centerpiece of your dining table. It is a New Year’s craft that will become an instant conversation starter no matter its location. Follow these instructions to make it.

Start the Year Right: Make a New Years Resolution Tree

Things You’ll Need

Branches

Paper

Scissors

Twine

Marker

Glass vase

Stones

Paper punch

Basket

New Year’s Resolution Tree Directions:

Cut the paper according to your preferred shapes. Make sure they are big enough to write on.

Make holes on every piece of paper with the paper punch.

Cut the twine into small pieces and put them through the holes you made. Tie the ends.

Put some of the stones inside the vase. Vary the sizes so as to leave gaps where you can insert the branches.

Place the branches inside the vase and add the remaining stones.

Write your resolutions so as to let your guests know the purpose of the tree.

Place the blank papers in the basket and set it next to the tree.

This New Year’s craft is a small project with a big impact. It will add color and interest to your home. Encourage your family and friends to jot down their resolutions and hang them on the tree. Afterwards, you can support each other when the going gets tough. You can assign the tree a permanent spot in your home so as to remind yourself of your goals. It will enhance your decor and serve as a constant reminder.

How are you planning to celebrate New Year’s? In a big way or in a small way? If you want to pull out all the stops, make this New Year’s craft. It stands out for its simplicity and will make a cheerful addition to your New Year’s party. Make this New Year’s the one your family and friends will remember for years to come. Here’s how to make this fun craft.

New Years Craft: Festive Ball Topiary

This craft will brighten up your home

Image via: BHG

[ad#co-1]

Supplies

Scissors

Clear tape

Flat decorative marbles

4-inch-diameter foam ball

A medium-width dowel, 16 inches long

Christmas ornaments (in different colors and sizes)

A glue gun

Double-faced satin ribbon

Prewired filler or rhinestone florist’s picks

Vase or container

Modelling clay

Plastic wrap (optional)

Process

Spray-paint the foam ball and leave it to dry. Affix the dowel to the foam ball. (You can sharpen one end of the dowel to make it easier to insert.

Remove the caps from your Christmas ornaments.

Apply hot glue to the top part of each ornament then press it into the foam ball. Mix different colors and sizes for a unique look.

Fill the tiny gaps between the ornaments with the rhinestone picks or prewired filler.

Tie the ribbon around the dowel starting from the bottom and ending just beneath the decorated foam ball. Make a knot and leave two tails.

Fill your vase with modelling clay. If you intend to reuse the clay, cover the top part with the plastic wrap to ensure it doesn’t dry out.

Put the other end of the dowel inside the clay and place the marbles on top of the clay.

The Christmas ornaments add sparkle

Image via: Simply Designing

This sparkly New Year’s craft is so gorgeous you’ll want to show it off all year. The best thing about it is that you can make it using your Christmas ornaments. If you have kids, you can make it together as you wait for the midnight hour. Kids love to usher in the New Year but most of them don’t have the energy to stay up late so this will keep them busy. You can make several topiaries and place them around the house to create a celebratory mood.
