Accent colors take center stage on a home décor palette, adding visual interest and dimensions. These colors can be used to put emphasize on certain things, create focal points, and draw the eye around the interiors. Using accent colors is the simplest way to add personality to a space. Moreover, there is always a place for accent colors no matter what colors you have used as the background of you interiors.

Accent Colors – Emphasize the Furniture Pieces
Painting furniture is a stylish way to introduce accent colors to a room. With painted furniture pieces, you can either create harmony in the place by adding accessories of the same shade or neutralize the look by bringing artworks and accessories in a more mute color. For example, a bright-colored cube table or a set of accent dining chairs will be a great addition to the décor of a space. The same effect can be created with cabinets too. If you have upper and lower cabinets, paint some of them with an accent color and leave the rest.

Create a Striking Wall with Accent Colors
Creating an accent wall is probably the safest and simplest way to use an accent color without overdoing it. Paint one wall or a portion of a wall with a color that will stand out than the rest of the décor of a room. Energize and excite your place with an unexpected color like lipstick red, electric blue, or wine color.
Colorize a Neutral Palette
A neutral or dark room like a combination of black leather furniture and dark wood floor can be uplifted with the right accent colors. Making an accent wall will not go well with such a set-up. So, change the mood of the room by using an accent color on the window frames and adding some accessories in the same hue. You can also create a gallery wall with similar artworks to highlight an accent color. Artworks are able to catch the eye by bringing enough color in a neutral space.

Rugs & Pillows
Do you want to splash colors in a room without spending much money and investing much time? Well, a colorful area rug and some striking pillows could be all the color you need. Place a large area rug on the living room floor, which will create a striking look. Add a burst of color by scattering a few pillows on the floor, sofas, side chairs, etc. You can create a balance by coordinating the shades of area rugs with the throw pillows.
