Less is more when it comes to bold patterns:
Let’s be honest, bold patterned furniture is only beautiful when it can be admired and not shielded from our eyes. Meaning, if you want to bring in a bright fuchsia couch and accent it with zebra striped black and white throw pillows, ensure that the rest of the room is going to stay mellow and subdued. Many designers agree to stick with one bold pattern and then accessorize with smaller patterns in the same or complimenting color hues to bring the look together. If each piece of furniture in your room has a bold pattern, you and your guests will not linger long in the room. Create a fun and eclectic balance with a clear focal point, and let the rest of your room compliment it.

Bold patterns can be subdued:
While the terms may sound like an oxymoron – bold and subdued, you can use a large print, or a bold graphic to depict boldness and then let adjacent furniture and colors play off of the colors for subtlety. This is especially true in bedroom headboards. The bed is always the focal point of the room and by using a bold patterned design, or a striking color, the bedding, pillows, window treatments, and wall treatments can all take a cue just from that one design element. For a unique do it yourself project, consider using wallpaper, wall decals or paint with stencils to create a one-of-a-kind headboard that speaks to your bold personality!
Add color to your outdoor home:
Outdoor furniture has taken on a new life in the last few years. The idea of bringing the outdoors in and your interiors out can be beautifully translated in bold patterned cushions, painted outdoor furniture, and even painted patio floors. Take your inspired bold designs outdoors and see how your entire home transforms.
