Change the way you think about choosing colors:

In 2014, Stagetecture posted a feature about the Color911 app. I am so excited to bring you up to date on the complete redesign and update of the Color911 website, blog and app! It has been exciting, taking our ideas of how we can help people with color in more ways, and turning those ideas into reality! For those who are new to Color911, the app is a user-friendly way of getting color help & inspiration. We make color decisions all day; choosing clothes to wear, making color decisions at work, decorating, or planning a party or even a wedding. When the Color911 app was originally featured it highlighted how you can create your own palette if you are planning any event. Once you have your palette you can instantly share your colors with everyone who needs to know your color choices. By using the Color911 app, everyone from your bridal party to florist will have your information and can match your colors beautifully!

Choosing colors for events, fashion and decorating:

I have come to realize, that people are using Color911 for choosing colors for their events, to their wardrobe to decorating! In the last year the Color911 app has been named a “Must-have app for your next design project” by Architectural Digest and even Elle Décor said the app will “change the way your decorate!” Color911 has many features, among them it gives you an easy way to create your colors, save them for inspiration and share them with friends, family, caterer or designer.

If you’re ever shopping you can take a quick photo, choose the colors from your image and save it all for future reference. You can also share the colors with the person you are shopping for. A great tool if you want to show someone what colors you have in mind, or are a designer and want to show your colors to an assistant or client, You also have the option of finding a color theme within the app that inspires you. Use it as your guide and your colors will harmonize beautifully! I personally created each theme and using them gives you the guidance of a color professional. The app comes with over 100 unique color themes to choose from!

How can the Color911 App help you?

How is the app helpful? Let’s say you want to match your wall color to your rug. Take a photo, save colors you like and adjust colors to account for lighting if needed. You can go to the paint store and find a paint color to compliment your rug, having the color information and image with you in your app, all without having to bring the rug with you.

Whether you are matching the colors of clothing or curtains, the same simple process applies. I have included photos that show how you can capture the colors from an image and what a great tool it is to have at your fingertips. Play with it and explore the colors of the world around you. The Color911 app is available for iOS devices for $3.99 at Apple’s app store.

I hope you have fun with it and more than anything, I hope you’re inspired!  –Amy Wax
