I have always been somewhat snobbish about wood verses laminate. I wanted wood floors in my new house but couldn’t afford them so decided to give the laminate a “look.” I had oak hardwood floors in my previous house and didn’t think I could acheive the same look with the laminate. After shopping around and doing research on the laminate floors, I finally found one that I liked that came with a 30 year guarantee. I chose a dark, wide plank hand scraped finish, and I must say I am quite happy with the results. It is very easy to clean, and since I have pets there are no scratches on laminate like there would be on the real wood flooors. My son and one of his friends installed the floors for me and they did a great job. Not so snobbish anymore!

When we moved to this house – we wanted to take out the carpet and do hard wood. Well, after further thought we opted for updating the kitchen instead. I really want hardwood but you and many others are convincing me to do laminate. When we are ready I’m going to get the type you wet happy with!! Thanks Donna!
