Entry #1275, June 12, 2012

Father’s day is this Sunday, June 17th have you thought about what you’re getting dad? How about have the kids make crafts that they will enjoy giving and dad will love to keep for years? Here are a few craft ideas that your children will love making for Dad:

Denim Mobile Phone Holder

This craft idea is easy and might not cost you a single penny. This is a dual purpose since it may not just fit a mobile phone but also mp3 players. You only need the following materials old pair of blue jeans, fabric glue, scissors and Velcro tape. These materials are readily available at home. To do this, measure the width of the phone to fit the holder. Then, cut the pocket from the old pair of jeans including the small pocket that is in front.  Fold and glue the sides of the large pockets to the back and have one side of the Velcro glued to the back side of the small pocket. The large end of the small pocket and the backside of the large pocket must be attached and glued to make a closing flap. Let it dry for fifteen minutes and attach to the outside of the large pocket, then line it up with the small pocket flap.

Chalkboard Message Center

Check for any available old or unused picture frame at home. The recommended size for this is at least 4” X 6”. Cut a cardboard so it can fit the frame. Remove the glass and have it painted with the favorite color of your daddy. You may add on accessories like to print cutouts of a superhero, cartoon characters or anything that your dad is inclined to. Write a note saying how much you love your dad and decorate it on the wall.
