Create the perfect wedding day

Today, we continue talking about weddings and today we look at how to overcome small mishaps on your perfect day. My Guest Blogger, Noelle Towler, gives 10 tips for making your wedding day go smoother.

Mishaps always occur when you do not need them at all, and if that is the case on your wedding day, then that is twice as annoying. Regardless if tan lines, lost wedding rings, a torn bridal gown, stains on the clothes or drunken guests, there are 10 ways to make your wedding day go smoothly.

Tan Lines

Every bride’s dream is to stand in front of the altar with a gorgeous tan. However, even though you took care while at the solarium or sun bathing, it happened – tan lines! This would not be so dramatic if stripes of a bikini top in a strapless wedding dress were not a nightmare.

Therefore, prevention is better than cure. For the brides who do not want to substitute real sun light for artificial UV rays, a so-called tanning booth is ideal to work around this possible wedding disaster. In order to do this, you must first scrub your body and gently spray it with tanning lotion. However, you should begin with this about two months before the wedding date in order to find out what tanning lotion suits you and whether the results are satisfactory.

Should your wedding be in a week, and you need a last-minute solution, then you can try a self-tanner or camouflage makeup. Spotted areas caused by a self-tanner can usually be removed with a hot shower in combination with lemon juice. In any case, let your bridesmaid help you to dress, so that your wedding dress does not get dirty.

Lost Wedding Ring

Also on the list of 10 ways to make your wedding day go smoothly is the worst that can happen – to lose your wedding bands. Therefore, it is best that you put a trustworthy person in charge of the rings. Even if the best friend is actually responsible – if he ever loses things then it is advisable to give this task to someone else.

The Wedding Dress is Torn

The tightness of a wedding gown already contains the first danger of a wedding mishap. However, should this occur, then only a patch or concealer helps. Make sure to keep a small sewing kit in your emergency box in order to fix the damage quickly. Other auxiliary alternatives are a stapler, tape, safety pins or glue. If you have nothing of the above available, then you need to improvise. Cover the crack with your veil, or put your shawl over it.

Spots On The Wedding Dress

Bright white, this is how a wedding gown should look like. Unfortunately, this is not always the case; thus, here are some tools to work around small stains:

Tiny patches of dirt can be covered with white chalk and are generally not seen in photographs. Make-up spots from countless kisses and hugs can be dunked into some mineral water and then washed with salt. Caution: Do not rub the patch, as you will not be able to remove it.

Rain

Sunshine is the desired weather condition for a wedding, reception and photographs. However, weather can be unpredictable and leave you cold and wet on your most important day. Do not despair, as your wedding location can be set up with short-term party tends. Should the forecast predict rain on your wedding day, then organize umbrellas in the color of the wedding theme for your guests. Although it is not ideal, wedding pictures can also be taken inside. The photographer has enough light to present you with gorgeous pictures.

Swollen Feet

The tip that every bride receives is to wear her wedding shoes in. However, with pregnancy or hot weather this is a tricky task. In this scenario, the only thing that helps is to take off the shoes in unnoticed moments and slip into a spare pair of more comfortable ones. Rubbing your feet with ice cubes may also help and bring relief.

The Guests Are Drunk

At many weddings, people drink too much alcohol. They sometimes have so much that it starts to get embarrassing and disasters are inevitable. If the wedding day and the celebration are still young, you may direct the attention of the guests away from the alcohol and toward the wedding dance and prepared games. If all this is to no avail, then ask some friends to drive the drunken guests home. Another preventive measure is to restrict the consumption of alcohol after a certain time, or have guests pay for their own alcoholic beverages.

Transportation

The planning of appropriate transportation must be well- thought out, too. Otherwise, how will your guests, family and bridesmaids actually make it right on time to your ceremony? First, you should specify the persons that require transportation. These people normally are wedding helpers, both sets of parents, siblings and grandparents. Some wedding couples also offer certain relatives and guests, who live far from the location, transportation.

The Perfect Wedding Music

In the 10 ways to make your wedding day go smoothly, the ideal entertainment for you and your guests is extremely vital, as well. Thus, it is crucial to select the fitting wedding music. Besides the question of whether a band or DJ is hired, you must also think about when and what songs should be played. This is important because the music largely decides whether your guests have a momentous time, or not.

Design Your Own Wedding Program

Creating your own wedding program is not only fun but also makes a lovely keepsake for your guests. Let your creativity run wild and make your own program booklet for your wedding. Pack it with every important detail. This way, your wedding will be as smooth as you desire. Besides, self-designed programs also help to keep the budget small, and it is a fabulous experience for your attendants.
