A house is not a house without a kitchen. Kitchens, bring about a certain warmth and an aroma to a house, a scent and coziness that is very peculiar to a certain house especially during the holiday season. With the kitchen imparting so much character to your home, how can you possibly leave it out of your holiday decor scheme. With the festivities around the corner, a kitchen is where I would love to begin with, when it comes to decorating and adding frills. This is where I would love to welcome the holidays first!
Holiday Decor: Kitchen Christmas Ideas
The easiest way to incorporate holiday fever in your kitchen is to innovatively incorporate deep red color into the setup. The best way to achieve this is to take out your red colored pots and pans, kitchen linen, vases and ceramic pots and distribute them creatively in your kitchen.
Country Style Holiday Decor
Another great way to bring Christmas into your kitchen is to go the country way. Little wooden sculptures, rustic planter pots with bright green foliage, pine cones and little Christmas trees all bring countryside right into your kitchen. You could place a gorgeous white Santa on the countertop and place a few pine cones around it. Wooden reindeers would add to the countryside charm as well.
Holiday Decor, For Kitchen Windows
Kitchen windows are the one place in your entire kitchen that give you a free hand to experiment with the decor. Cottage style curtains, wreaths and planter pots on window sills, bright shiny buntings running across informally, red and green, tea cups placed casually, a few candles tossed asymmetrically are a few ways to introduce Christmas to your kitchen windows.
Minimalist Holiday Decor, For Kitchens
For those of you who believe in ‘less is more’, nothing like the minimalist avatar. For your bare white kitchen with interludes of steel and wood, all I would suggest is a minimalist Christmas tree donning a contemporary attire. You could place this on your kitchen island and add a few ball buntings and miniature Christmas presents. There is nothing more that you need to do here.
Using KItchen Props For Christmas Decor
Take out those pretty red colored aprons and use them like Christmas motifs on the windows and place little Christmas trees down below. If you have some white cookie jars, use them creatively and if you can then bring in a Christmas flavored wallpaper. Red cutlery, linen and little nothings can make a huge impact and I bet you couldn’t make Santa happier!
Garbed In Christmas Colors
If the wallpaper meant going a little overboard, there is something else you might like. Just hang a red colored grandma’s apron informally on the door, place some cane baskets over the kitchen storage, hang Christmas stockings on the cabinets and light a few candles on the shelf. And of course, place a few fruits on the island. Your kitchen couldn’t have been cozier.
These were just a few holiday decor ideas for your Christmas kitchen, out of the million others out there. The point I wanted to make was, that in about 9 out of 10 ideas, there is not much expenditure involved. By just looking into our homes we can find holiday specific elements right there and with a little creativity, we can use them in the best possible way. It would be great to hear from you on how you plan to bring Christmas to your kitchen. Do pour in your comments and ideas, we look forward to them!
