The tradition of giving winter wedding favors dates back to 16th century England. Couples would give “love knots” constructed from lace and ribbon to each of their guests to represent their bond of love. Since then, the scope of wedding favors has certainly widened, but the sentiment of wanting to share your love with family and friends has remains the same. Hot Cocoa Mix:
Hot cocoa mix is a festive favor to warm up your winter wedding. Not to mention that they can be assembled just a few simple steps. Layer hot coca mix, mini marshmallows, and peppermints inside empty mason jars. Then, label each jar with your names and wedding date. If your wedding is adults-only, feel free to throw a nip of Bailys or Kahlua in there for an extra hit of good cheer.

Snowflake Sugar Cookies:
This tasty snack is a sure to be enjoyed by everyone on your guest list. To make these at home, just roll out pre-made sugar cookie and portion them with snowflake-shaped cookie cutters. Bake them according to the package directions and allow them to cool completely before icing. Use white royal icing as a base layer and then use a colored icing to pipe small Y-shapes in each of the points. You can package each cookie in small cellophane bags that are tied together ribbon.

Christmas Tree Ornament:
This favor is not as easy to put together at home, but is well worth the extra effort. Pick out a simple ornament of any shape that you prefer. Then have it engraved with your names and wedding date. This is a gift that your guests can enjoy year after year as the holiday season rolls around.

Don’t stress too much over picking the perfect wedding favor. At the end of the day, it should just be a small gift to let your guests know that you appreciate their role in your celebration. As long as you keep that intention in mind, your favors will undoubtedly be a hit.
