A wedding is a very important moment in a couple’s life. To give the wedding reception a more personal touch is a great way to make this event an opportunity to show your personality, your character and your dreams as a couple. Here are some ideas on how to personalize your wedding reception, without exploding your budget.
Personalize your Wedding Reception on a Budget
Select a Meaningful Color Theme
To infuse your wedding reception with your own personality, select a signature color theme that will be repeated throughout your wedding. Think about picking colors that mean something to both of you, like the colors of your shared favorite team for example, and have these colors be dominant from your invitations to the decorations. You can even use colored drinks like liquor or juice of the same colors to emphasize your chosen colors, or just pour a drop of food coloring into the water. Use the chosen color to print out labels for bottles or menus.

Pick a Symbol
Also, picking a symbol, like a specific flower or a special item, which reminds you of an important moment together or a shared hobby, can personalize your wedding reception. Have a stamp created with that symbol or your monogram and use it to personalize invitations, menus, napkins and bottle labels. Use this symbol also on favors and reception decorations.

If you are both known for your undying love of a flavor, like coffee or vanilla, use that to flavor the foods you will be serving. Also have scented candles burning or aroma diffusers to fill the air with that smell. Filling open vases with coffee beans and candles or flowers for example, could even add to your table decorations.
Get Creative with the Guest Book
Think about a personalized guest book that you will always cherish. Maybe you are both musicians and so you could have your guests sign on musical instruments. Or you love to travel, so get a big globe, paint it and have your guest sign on it.

Another idea to personalize your wedding reception is to set up a simple photo or video booth instead of a guest book. Just give it a personal feel, a backround and add a camera. Let your guests speak their wishes or write them on the back of the photo, if you’re using a Polaroid camera. If a digital camera is used, it would be cool to prepare some funny props or charcoal signs, on which the guests could write a short message for the couple.
