A bedroom should not only be a place for your kids to rest but also to have fun. It should be an area where it suggests something about your kids. One of the best ways in providing a reflection of the kind of personality and character your want for your kids is through the color of the room.

Experts say that the general color of the surroundings has significant impact on the mood of a person. While it is good to consider your kids’ preferences, you may influence their thoughts and help them to have a room that has attractive, bold and unique color which reflects their personality. You can also combine colors that would make them feel alive but relaxing. To provide you with ideas on choosing a color, here are some popular selections:
Pink
It is the most common color paint for a girl’s room. This color provides a feeling of tranquility and decency. Pink also gives a lively effect especially when darker shade is preferred. Pink can also be muted in conjunction with darker masculine colors such as grey, brown, and blue to give a high contrast and beautiful combination of colors.
Blue
Contrary to pink, the color blue is the most common for a boy’s room. Children in blue room are expected to be quiet and content. It suggests calmness and serenity to the general ambiance of the room. This is great when you want your kids to have focus and composure particularly when studying. Blue can also be a gender neutral color as it has tones that are complimentary for girls too – turquoise, aqua and pale blue are beautiful in both genders.
Yellow
This color implies happy, cheerful and light atmosphere. It is a safe paint color since it fits either you has a boy or girl. Looking at yellow surroundings help energize your kids after a stressful day in school.

Orange
It is vibrant, attractive and energetic color which suits best in a growing kid. But if you want your kid’s room to be generally composed and tranquil, then you should not use orange as your main color. You can have a shade of it or combination with lighter colors. Orange has gained interest this year with Pantone naming Tangerine Tango as the color of the year. Orange can be found in kids bedding, toys, clothing and especially room decor.
Green
Green symbolized warmth and nature. A room painted in green sets the tone of relaxing and rejuvenating atmosphere. It helps them get energized when they wake up in the morning. Also, if they are having a temper and tantrums, this color helps them calm down and become less anxious. Green is one of the most universal colors to use throughout the home. Vibrant spring and grass greens or subtle and muted sage green is a beautiful neutral for kids’ rooms.
The options of colors is only limited to your imagination. But whatever it is, choose a color that suits the personality of your children and that would help them develop a positive attitude.
