As a writer for Design Shuffle, I’m lucky to visit some amazing design blogs, like Stagetecture, and share my love of interior design with readers all over the world.
Today I’m writing about Design Trends: Fall Forecast. Home decor and design trends often follow (and sometimes lead) fashion trends. With this in mind, look at the fall fashions at your favorite store and think how to translate them into your home. I’ve pulled together 8 Fall design trends to share with you & your readers. What design trends are you seeing this fall?

This living room shows off many of the design trends for fall. Ikat patterns continue to be popular; the curtains have rich fall hues. Gold, greige and yellow are a hot color combination.

For fall, leather and faux fur are hot off the runway and perfect for fall interiors. Rich brown leathers in furniture and accessories, and faux fur pillows and throws are perfect textures for fall.

Deep saturated colors like plums, oranges and navy are popular fall colors for fashion and home dÈcor. Paired with black or other strong colors, these fall hues make a big impact even in a small space.

Mixing patterns and styles for a personal look continues to be a design trend this fall. We forecast this look will continue to be popular as it allows people to use what they have in new ways.

Rustic contemporary is the new style trend. As seen in this bedroom design, taking natural elements and adding them to a contemporary or modern space feels very fresh and now.

Handcrafted pottery and china are big trends in design right now. Clever DIY projects can turn vintage and ordinary china, glass and pottery into one of kind pieces. Beautiful for a holiday table.

Another trend in design right now is creating vignettes of texture, pattern, shape and color. Metallics, especially warm tones of brass, bronze, gold and rose gold are all very hot right now in interior designs.

Reusing, upcycling, renovating, restoring,†re-purposing…these are all hot design trends right now. Thinking of new ways to use old things is one of the best trends right now.
