Accessories
Using different accessories is the easiest way to update a teenager’s bedroom. Take down those fairy tale or cartoon character curtains and put something that is cool and stylish. For instance, if your teen is a sports lover, choose colors or designs that complement his/her favorite sports team. In case, your teenager loves art, consider incorporating art elements into various accessories. Also, get rid of that Disney inspired lamp and let your child pick up a more sophisticated lava lamp or track lighting.

Painting the walls will help you make a dramatic change and will instantly update the bedroom. Most teenagers prefer bright, vibrant colors such as bold blue, hot pink or juicy orange. Allow your teen to select the paint color or let him/her paint one of his/her bedroom walls with modest graffiti or any other preferred theme.
Furniture and storage
Replacing the entire furniture can cost you a fortune. So, save money by doing a makeover to your teen’s existing furniture. A fresh coat of paint will lend it a brand new look. Replace plastic hardware’s with glass ones. In order to encourage your teenager to keep his/her bedroom clutter free, it’s important to incorporate separate storage areas. Freestanding storage cabinets and bookshelves will help your child keep his/her electronics, books, and other personal items organized.

Art work
Nothing is more important for a teenager than friends. So, why not use his/her fun pictures with friends as a piece of décor? Get some of your teen’s favorite instagram pictures printed on a poster or put them in a frame individually. Allowing your teenager to voice his/her opinion is the best way to ensure that the updated bedroom look will be a success. Let your teen use the room to display his/her personal taste and style.
